Wendy Wilson
معلم اللغة الإنجليزية لغير الناطقين بها / معلم اللاتينية
Wendy Wilson has 20 years of teaching experience specializing in language learning, primarily with ELL and Spanish. She is now excited about teaching middle school Latin at ACAR as well as supporting ELL students. She is passionate about inspiring students to view language learning as an avenue to understanding more about our world, our history, and ourselves.
She is originally from Livonia, Michigan, but has lived in Tennessee for so long that she considers herself a Tennessean even if she may not sound like one. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and Spanish at Valparaiso University in Indiana and her master’s degree in intercultural studies with a concentration in Spanish at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a newspaper reporter. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, hiking, and playing euchre and mahjong.
Why She Loves Working at a Hillsdale School:
She is grateful for the opportunity to teach at a classical school where students can acquire a wealth of knowledge, become deep thinkers, and grow in character — all with the aim of becoming lifelong learners and good citizens who value living in a free society.
