Ms. Day

Kindergarten Teacher

Mary-Clay Day is teaching kindergarten at Rutherford Classical. Mrs. Day was raised in Franklin, TN; earning degrees from UT Chattanooga (BS, Early Childhood Education) and Trevecca University (MA, Educational Leadership).

Mrs. Day has a passion for creating an environment that empowers students to reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally while developing strong virtues. She taught for the past 11 years, primarily in kindergarten (eight years) and three years in blended Pre-K. Mrs. Day believes that all students need high expectations, strong instruction, and moments of grace to become the best versions of themselves. This learning environment creates children to be respectful of each other and themselves, self-confident, and establishes a sense of pride. In our year together, we become a family celebrating our growth and encouraging each other in our areas to grow through a family-like atmosphere.

An American Classical Education

Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on language, content-rich subjects, a solid foundation of core knowledge, and an in-depth exploration of the historical, literary, and scientific legacies of both the United States and Western civilization.
