Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Mary-Clay Day teaches kindergarten at American Classical Academy Rutherford (ACAR). Mrs. Day earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from UT Chattanooga and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca University.
Mrs. Day has taught for the past 11 years: eight years in kindergarten and three years in blended Pre-K.
Mrs. Day is passionate about creating an environment that empowers students to reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally while developing strong virtues. She believes that all students need high expectations, strong instruction, and moments of grace to become the best versions of themselves. Such a classroom teaches children to respect one another and themselves, builds self-confidence, and establishes a sense of pride. Over the year, her class becomes a family that celebrates its growth and encourages one another in the areas where each still has room to grow.
Mrs. Day was raised in Franklin, Tennessee.
