Mr. Beck

Fourth Grade Teacher

Born in Canada, Allen immigrated to the United States in 1998, after working on multiple cross-border, technology-based business initiatives.  Allen’s business experience is grounded in extended projects throughout Canada, the United States, the UK, Europe, and South Asia.  Allen’s career focus has included the development of frontline personnel, middle management, and senior personnel in corporate structures before moving to freelance consulting in 2002.

Allen operational roles in the technology sector have required continual personal development, and transfer to those competencies to individuals and teams in his charge.  His work as a freelance consultant since 2002 has been spent coaching supervisory personnel in management skills, and in mentoring mid-level and senior management personnel in leadership.  The challenge of executing programs of learning and execution across international cultures provided Allen with a practical understanding of leader-follower relationships that he will employ in his teaching.

It is the work of exploring the collaboration between leaders and followers that Allen discovered his passion for developing people of all ages.  The opportunity to work with young minds and to experience the learning process through their eyes has attracted Allen to ACAR.  In doing so, Allen will encourage open communication among the students to instill confidence in themselves and collaboration with their peers.

Allen has supported his practical contributions as a learner and a teacher of others with a BSc in Business, an MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, Tempe.  Allen supported his passion for personnel development by completing doctorates in Behavioral and Organizational Psychology at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix.  His study of human behavior, how we learn, will support his efforts in engaging students in a classical learning environment.
