Michelle McGee-Morrison
Kindergarten Teacher
Michelle McGee-Morrison is a Kindergarten Teacher at American Classical Academy Rutherford (ACAR). She comes to ACAR from Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Michelle McGee-Morrison served 20 years with the Pennsylvania State Police. For 12 of those years she held the positions of Community Service Officer, School Resource Officer, and Public Information Officer, conducting lessons and presentations for students from pre-K through college, and for three years she taught a character development program for students in grades 3–5. In 2023 she retired from the State Police to homeschool her two youngest daughters using a classical curriculum, and she led 7th grade students during their weekly meetings.
An ardent fan of Hillsdale College, she values a strong curriculum that restores excellence to education and the opportunity a Hillsdale school provides to cultivate moral character. She finds it amazing to watch students gain not only knowledge but civic virtue, and she enjoys teaching lessons while seeking the truth, goodness, and beauty around us. A favorite quotation, from C.S. Lewis’s The Abolition of Man: “The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles but to irrigate deserts.”
Michelle McGee-Morrison and her husband, Jason, have five daughters, two grandsons, and a toy Yorkie-poo named Bilbo Baggins. She enjoys family time, fitness, hiking, and exploring their new home state of Tennessee.
