Abigail Hubin
ELL Teacher (EL K–1)
Ms. Abigail Hubin is the EL K–1 instructor at American Classical Academy Rutherford (ACAR), where she is continuing in her role for a second year. Ms. Hubin earned her Bachelor of Science in Global Studies and an ESL teaching certificate from Boyce College (Honors) in Louisville, Kentucky. During her studies, she completed a practicum teaching English in Italy to nationals and refugees.
Ms. Hubin has taught English language learning for more than eight years, working with both children and adult learners.
Ms. Hubin believes that providing every child with opportunities to learn is fundamental. She sees communication as a key to learning and language literacy as an important stage in a learner’s growth and acculturation, and she values the Hillsdale network’s strength in emphasizing literacy and the tonal patterns within languages. She is excited to be part of ACAR’s mission and vision. A favorite quotation, from Jane Austen: “And sometimes I have kept my feelings to myself, because I could find no language to describe them.”
Ms. Hubin was raised in Middle Tennessee and has a passion for the arts and good coffee.
