Lynn Philburn
Special Education Aide
Lynn Philburn is a Special Education Aide at American Classical Academy Rutherford (ACAR).
Her love of children inspired Lynn Philburn to enter the special education setting when she returned to the workplace. She is passionate about partnering with families to help their children receive the best educational opportunities available.
Lynn Philburn values how the Hillsdale classical curriculum and its focus on great literature teach students to do more than memorize information: students learn to think, form opinions, and understand a subject deeply enough for civil debate. The focus on all things good, true, and beautiful helps to shape students’ hearts, and by attending to both mind and heart, a child can become a well-rounded adult ready to contribute to society through knowledge and compassion. A favorite quotation, from A. A. Milne: “A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”
Lynn Philburn has been a wife and mother for more than 40 years and has six grown children and thirteen grandchildren. She has always encouraged her family to get the best education possible and is grateful that her local grandchildren attend ACAR.
