Lynn Philburn
Lynn has been a wife and mother for 40 plus years and is the mother of six grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Lynn has always encouraged her own family to get the best education possible, and she is grateful her local grandchildren are able to attend American Classical Academy Rutherford. Her love of children inspired her to enter the SPED setting when returning to the workplace. She is passionate about partnering with families to help their children receive the best educational opportunities available.
Why I Love Working at a Hillsdale School:
The Hillsdale classical curriculum and focus on great literature teaches students to do more than just memorize information; it teaches them to think, form opinions, and have a deep enough understanding of the subject for civil debates. The focus on all things good, true, and beautiful help to mold our student’s hearts. By focusing on both the mind and heart, a child can become a well-rounded adult ready to contribute to society through both knowledge and compassion.
My Favorite Classical Quote:
“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.” – A. A. Milne
An American Classical Education
Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on language, content-rich subjects, a solid foundation of core knowledge, and an in-depth exploration of the historical, literary, and scientific legacies of both the United States and Western civilization.
