Ms. Potter
First Grade Teacher
Portia Potter is a new teacher eager to inspire young minds at the American Classical Academy Rutherford (Rutherford County, Tennessee).
Ms. Potter is a Nashville native and has resided in La Vergne, TN for 23 years. She earned her degrees in Accounting and Business Administration and retains a real estate license in Tennessee. Before transitioning to education, she spent 21 years at a major healthcare manufacturer. Her career has afforded her some great opportunities in mentorship, leadership, and development.
Ms. Potter is very passionate about learning and believes that education is where she can make a positive impact. She has been a mentor to young professionals and volunteers as a mentor for TN Achieves, helping La Vergne High School students transition to college.
Ms. Potter believes that every student has the opportunity to succeed at learning in a positive environment, with a teacher who inspires them and has a loving support system, nurturing and caring. She is excited to make a huge impact on our future leaders!
